I am having a Laptop issue with my HP Pavilion Computer?

MarWhen I close out a program when I am on line with my HP Pavalion, it closes out ALL of my online running pages and comes up with an error message like "internet explorer has encountered a problem and must shut down" its really annoying and I was wondering if I could get any advice on how to fix this. Thanks!
firstly i’d clear you internet history, cookies, temp files, then if it still occurs run a repair over your browser, i’ve added a link that shows how to repair ie 6 & 7
